42 years later .......

A Zitting Cisticola was seen on the Schorren on 20 and 21 August. The bird betrayed its presence through its striking song and accompanying song flight. The first record of this species on Texel dates from 1977 as many as 42 years ago. In the Netherlands, only a few pairs of this southern European songbird breed in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. Due to the less cold winters, the breeding border could move further north.Graszanger21082019
