Yellowhammers breed in the east of the Netherlands. On Texel they mainly migrate in small numbers in autumn. Some years, overwintering birds are seen, such as this year with a highest number of thirty in the Prins Hendrikpolder. In addition to some Yellowhammers, dozens of Reed Buntings have been seen along the Oorsprongweg in polder Eijerland. With the presence of a group of eight Lapland Buntings and a rare Little Bunting, the fields in this area appear to have a great attraction for these seed eaters.
