Buzzard Buteo buteo is a fairly numerous breeding bird on Texel. The number of pairs is around thirty. Due to the current mild winter the birds are already displaying in the air. The food consists of small mammals, birds, insects, worms and carrion. Due to the high temperatures earthworms have been coming out of their hibernation. Today this Buzzard did advantage of it and swallowed several worms.
