On the east the wetland areas became steadily populated by Black-headed Gulls, Sandwich Terns, Common Terns and Pied Avocets. Until yesterday only a few Common Terns were reported today, I counted for about twenty ex on Ottersaat. Also some Mediterranean Gulls move between the many shrieking and courting birds. With their 'meows' they barely rise above all the din. Very likely their presence is of short duration. The Mediterranean Gull is an occasional breeding bird on Texel.
