at the many records of recent days confirms again that there is much to see in the month of May. The Dutch Birding weekend from 8 to 10 May produced beautiful species such as Black Kite, Bee-eaters, Savi's Warbler, Ortolan Bunting, Crane, Red-rumped Swallow culminating with a second calendar year male Citrine Wagtail. This vagrant was discovered on the Renvogelveld at the Robbenjager and is the 6th record for Texel. The days that followed were a Purple Heron in Spang (11/5), 10 European Bee-eaters flying along the Koog (13/5) and a Broad-billed Sandpiper seen in Ottersaat (14/5). The group Dotterels along the Hoofdweg has grown in the meantime to a number of 14.
