After a period of ten days with a lot of rain and wind now we have quiet autumn weather. Sunny weather with wind from the east seem ideal circumstances for fall migration. Last days Yellow-browed Warblers, Chiffchaffs and Dunnocks have arrived in reasonable numbers. Also Song Thrushes, Redwings and Coal Tits were reported. The numbers stay low. On 25 September an Siberian Stonechat was present in De Tuintjes.
In polder Waal en Burg a Red Phalarope was seen on 25 en 26 September. On 27 September a juvenile Red-backed Shrike was seen in De Nederlanden. Last days there were also records of migrating Tawny Pipits, Richard's Pipits, Ring Ouzels and Longspurs. Yesterday a 'ticking' Bunting flew over camping De Robbenjager heading south. By a soundrecording could be determined that it was a Little Bunting. Finally today a Great Grey Shrike showed up in De Tuintjes.
