After the Forsters Tern (1st observation day 10-04-2016) can now be added even two new species to the Texel species list. On 30 April, a Black-headed Wagtail was found between some Blue-headed and Yellow Wagtails at De Nederlanden and beautiful photographed by Ruwan Aluvihare. A small group of birdwatchers saw the bird the same evening, and some of them were able to make audio recordings of the call. The following days the Wagtail was seen irregularly in the same place.
Two days later, on May 2 a Roseate Tern was seen at De Volharding between some Sandwich Terns. This bird was short on the ground and flew away towards the the east. Within half an hour it was recovered in Utopia. There, too, the bird was quickly gone. On May 3 this rare Tern was only seen by one observer in Utopia. Remarkable is that the Roseate Tern was present at exactly the same two locations as the Forsters Tern.
