120 species of breeding birds. In addition, species from other breeding areas can be seen. Some have already finished their job, others skip a year and over summer here. The first Spotted Redshanks have already returned from their Arctic breeding grounds. Soon we can expect more wader species.
Unfortunately, again this year many Black-tailed Godwits are unproductive. A group of adult Godwits in June is usually a bad sign. It often means that the nests are destroyed by mowing. Our national bird is not doing well and expected is that it will becoming scarcer as a breeding bird.
