The last week of September in particular seabird migration was very productive with sightings of several hundred Great Skuas, dozens Parasitic Jaegers, some Pomarine Skuas and Long-tailed Jaegers. Also tens of Sooty Shearwaters, several Manx and Balearic Shearwaters, 4 Leach's Storm Petrels and 3 British Storm Petrels were seen along the Texel North Sea coast.
Sunday, October 2nd. After a rainy night and later in the day freshening strong northwesterly wind with showers, songbirds literally fell from the sky. Several dozen Yellow-browed Warblers, many Goldcrests, Blackcaps, Song Thrushes, Chiffchaffs (including two Siberian), Finches, Bramblings, a Great Grey Shrike and more. Above sea a Sabine's Gull and a Black Guillemot were seen.
Monday, October 3rd. Above sea several hundred Razorbills / Common Murres were migrating heading north. Furthermore, was not much to see. Highlights of the day were the discovery of a Pallas's Warbler and Radde's Warbler in the woods near pole 21 in De Koog. In the northern half of Texel 3 Great Grey Shrikes were seen. At the end of the day a juvenile Rosy Starling was present in De Cocksdorp.
