On Texel, the Northern Goshawk is a scarce breeding species with 15-20 pairs. About half of them breed in the Staatsbossen (State Forests) around De Koog.

Red Knots are observed throughout the year. The numbers can amount to many thousands of birds. These large waders breed in the far north around the Arctic Ocean. The best places to see this species on Texel are Slufter, Schorren, Utopia, Volharding and Mokbaai.
