In the second half of April, as a birder you wish a couple of days with a strong wind from the southeastern direction. During spring, this often means excellent bird migration with a good chance to see species in the category; scarce, rare or very rare. The so-called 'icing on the cake'. Until now, the weather reports do not work very much. The wind is coming from the wrong angle. However, in the last few days there have been seen some good species on Texel. For example, on April 16, between Grote Vlak (pole 9) and Jan Ayeslag (pole 12), a second calendar year male Pallid Harrier was seen. On April 19th, in polder Zeeburg walked a Black-headed Wagtail between the sheep on the sea dike. If accepted, this is the second record for NL. Today, a Wryneck was seen at the Renvogelveld. In the Tuintjes near the lighthouse, the scarce Ringouzel was represented very well by more than 20 birds! Meanwhile, the summer guests slowly arrive. Species like Common Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat and Grasshopper Warbler are heard again.
