In recent weeks, a Black Stork, Stork, Common Crane, Red and Black Kite, a few European Bee-eaters and a Booted Eagle (pale morph) caused some excitement. For pictures of the last see this link https://waarneming.nl/waarneming/view/138543225
The Booted Eagle was seen by only two people on 17 May along the eastern side. Unfortunately, the bird was identiefied too late and probably left the island again. This is the first record of this rare species for Texel. On the same date, a Pectoral Sandpiper was seen in Utopia.
In addition, there were several records of singing Golden Orioles and some Rosefinches. The last days are seen Honey Buzzards on several places.
