of the month of October it was bingo with the discovery of a rare Isabelline Wheatear. This breeding bird from the southeast of Europe and Asia was seen for the first time on 26 October and was present until dusk along the Hoofdweg in the north. The next morning the bird was not found again. This is the first record of this vagrant for Texel!
Also the records of two Dusky Warblers are worth mentioning. The first bird stayed in the State Forests at De Koog from 23 to 25 October. The second bird was discovered in Oosterend on October 26 and showed very nice at times. After October 27th, this Siberian vagrant was no longer seen. On October 30th, the first autumn record of Siberian Chiffchaff was in Oosterend. On November 3, several birds were seen at different locations. Last days there was firm migration of Fieldfares, Chaffinches, Bramblings, Siskins and Redpolls. On October 31, two Waxwings were seen in South Eierland.
