This autumn again Red-breasted Geese are seen on Texel. At this time, it concerns two birds, which stay in a group of a few hundred Barnacle geese. These colorful little geese breed on the Siberian tundra and overwinter mainly in Romania and Bulgaria on the Black Sea (see map). It is an endangered species (IUCN Red List). The world population is estimated at around 55,000 birds.
