Last Saturday, December 5, a Richard's Pipit was found on the dike near De Cocksdorp. A late sighting of this Siberian breeding bird. Richard's Pipits are rare but regular autumn visitors in Western Europe. Often they are noticed by their loud distinctive flight call. This young bird was busy catching insects and showed itself beautifully on the ground.
