A short, severe frost period in February resulted in a large number of sightings of Woodcock, Common Snipe and Jack Snipe. Of the first in particular, more than a hundred birds were sometimes seen in a day. Unfortunately, many birds have also died due to lack of food. Among the victims, species such as Kingfisher and Little Egret. A few hibernating young Spoonbills unfortunately did not survive either. After the disappearance of the ice there was suddenly a beautiful male Long-tailed Duck. This time not in the Wadden Sea or flying along the North Sea coast, but in a narrow ditch in the middle of the island. This beautiful arctic duck was admired from a short distance.
