Many breeding birds sing at this time of the year, but there are also species that are still on their way from the south. And then of course we always see the annual migrants, common and scarce and a few vagrants. A Red-rumped Swallow, seen on April 23 certainly belongs to the latter category. Ring Ouzels are seen regularly this spring. At least 40 birds were seen in De Tuintjes, the dune area south of the lighthouse. Some even showed their blackbird-like singing.
