In my previous post of 8 July I wrote about the discovered Broad-billed Sandpiper, ten days later it happened again. This time two Marsh Sandpipers were walking in Minkewaal, a small puddle in the inner dike on the east side. Marsh Sandpipers have a very large distribution area that stretches from Eastern Europe to northern China. They winter from Africa (sub-Saharan) to Southeast Asia and Australia. Special about this early observation is that it concerns two juvenile birds.
